27 Aug 2011 - Yacht Inn Swim 2010

This is always a great charity swim event - over £1,000 was raised by last year's event.  It is organised by Mounts Bayer Nick Brooks, and takes place in Mounts Bay itself.  The swim start is from the rocks at Newlyn Green, while the finish line is up the slipway at the side of the Jubilee Pool. 

The distance is just under the mile as the crow flies, but you can end up swimming a lot further if you take the wrong line or get caught in backwash if you stay too close to the shore and the sea wall.

No pre-entry required - just turn up at Newlyn Green for registration (last year it was from 4pm).  The swim usually starts around 7.30pm depending on the tide.  Watch this page for info updates.
