This age group qualifier is a standard distance event in Liverpool City Centre on closed roads with a swim in the Albert Dock.
The water was warm with the largest volume of jellyfish I have ever seen, but they seemed reasonably benign. A fast but fairly windy bike leg was dry for my age group, but wet for some of the later waves so I grateful for that. The run was a fast flat out and back course around the Royal Liver Building and sea front so good for tracking progress against competitors.
It was exceptionally well organized and I would recommend this event for those wanting a big race event.
I noticed Susie Wood on the start list but unfortunately didn’t see her on the day. She seemed to have a great race based on the results.
